Cymbopogon martinii is a species of grass in the genus Cymbopogon (lemongrasses) native to India, It widely cultivated in many places for its aromatic oil.

Other common names include Indian geranium, ginger grass, rosha, and rosha grass. It is best known by the common name palmarosa.

Palmarosa is a perennial herb standing 2 meters height. arising from a short woody root stock. The plant is well suited to drought area. Flower contains major part of aromatic compound. Steam distillation is used to extract the essential oil, The The perfume looks like rose perfume and the essential oil is rich in geraniol.
